Letter From The Headmaster

Dear Friends of Franklin Christian Academy,

In the summer of 2008, the FCA Board of Directors met for its annual Board Retreat with the goal of envisioning the future for our school by designing and implementing an ambitious Three Year Strategic Plan.

The Plan called for the pursuit of Four Major Goals:

• Goal 1 – Achieve School Accreditation

• Goal 2 – Establish Fundraising for a Capital Campaign, Annual Giving and Scholarship Funds

• Goal 3 – Acquire Land, Design Building, and Construction of Phase I of New School Campus

• Goal 4 – School Advancement and Improvement Plan

With God’s blessings we have been able to achieve these major goals. In September 2008 we signed a purchase agreement to purchase 14 acres on Highway 96 West at the future intersection with Mack Hatcher By-Pass, near the Westhaven Development. The property was re-zoned, the City of Franklin approved our site plan in April 2009, and we closed on the property in August. The schematic design phase of our new building is complete, and its final design encompasses sustainable practices for LEED Certification.

FCA has received accreditation from AdvancEd which encompasses the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) as well as the Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (CASI).  Both are Tennessee Department of Education approved accrediting agencies.

The FCA Board of Directors established a Capital Campaign Committee to pursue raising the funds to finish the design and construction phases of our new building. The Fourth Annual Coffee House Fundraiser was held in November along with the First Annual FCA Golf Tournament Fundraiser in June. Both of these events benefit the FCA Scholarship Fund that provides an education to 27% of our student body.

Now is the time to move forward with establishing our new facility! Please join us in praying that God will continue to prepare the way by raising the funds necessary to construct Phase I of our “Plan of Hope” campaign, making us the only accredited Christian High School/Middle School in Franklin. He has led us to this point. He continues “A Plan of Hope” for FCA. Join us in this journey of hope as we build a permanent home for Franklin Christian Academy.

Sincerely,

Hugh Harris
